Whitefish is such exceptional carving and a wide variety of terrain. The mountain is regularly voted in the top 10 for grooming. Weekdays are vacant. The tickets are reasonable and so is lodging. Flights into Kalispell ( Glacier Park International) or AmTrack get you right into town. There are free shuttles from Whitefish(town) to the mountain.

Are the dates right on this? An 11 day session? I heard that NICE is Jan 22-27 and WTF was the week after.

I am planning on riding January 29- February 2nd. No lift lines!

I'm definitely interested in this, especially since I have a onesie now.

I'm in for 3 days of NICE and 3 days of WTF, and looking for a onesie!

Is anyone interested in splitting a room/condo/house in Whitefish/Big Mtn? I'm planning on arriving the morning of 1/24 and leaving the morning of 1/27.

Onesies are not required, but encouraged.

this morning huge flakes and dumping hard that looked so beautiful here in town.
only accumulated to an inch and melted fast. forecast is more snow next week.
so far it's looking good, but more is always better...

The dates are correct. Shred and I arrive on the 24th and depart on the 3rd. Not riding on those days. WTF is just a name Shred and I call our vacation.  I would love to see more carvers. Come for a day or stay the hole thing. Nothing organised do as you please. Besides chair #2 at 9 am and variable lunch times We do meet up for dinner and drinks some nights.  Remember No affiliation with the resort. Its a fun trip with people who want too help promote carving.

rained all day here in town yesterday and maybe at the summit as it was
very warm with the pacific front pushing thru and bring up the warmer air.
more rain in the next few days and warmer temps thru next week.
here is a pic of the new chair 5 on the east rim, note how steep and the
towers are on the tops of the rocky cliffs... no carving there...

Thanks for the kind words. I owe it to Shred. The pick was taken at A WTF.

Landed there as a total stranger a few years ago and was treated well ! Good people good food very reasonable rates on hill and excellent runs. Very finesse riders that you can learn a lot from just by trying to keep up to them. Only thing i missed out on was a feed of trout!

Come out this year lowrider . I'm much slower than the locals.

Keeping up with Shred and the locals could get me killed. I"m in Nelson BC for the middle of December so can't make it in Jan. Whitefish isn't exactly what you would typically think for a destination resort but i would encourage any and all to make an extra effort to visit resorts like Whitefish it isn't the big corporate gong show that most big names have turned into it is truly a riders resort . You will not be disappointed.

Well put. That is why (in my book) it is A destination location. WTF is in the slow time for a reason. Empty runs great food and beer. Than i go to Tahoe.

howdy all
well not the best week as we had warmer temps and rain even during the
evening. all the snow here in town is gone and looking at the big the runs
are showing grass again. forecast is colder temps and some snow next
week. early November was so good for snow then this past week so bad.
I think the backside will be ok and we will open with only chair 7 and
chair 11 and download on chair 1. opening day is Thursday December 7...

howdy all
WTF day 4 went with the softboots cause the big reported 4 inches new, but it was
very soft groomed down from yesterdays pow and it must have dumped early during
the night. should have brought the hardboots, but the softies was fun and I ended up
riding by myself and did some good pow runs all over the place. me and johnasmo and
crackaddict did a few runs early and somehow lost Cuban and two plank mark and rick.
the groomers was soft and not the best, but if it doesn't snow tomorrow should be good.
took it easy and had a fun pow day...
rode the 152wfs from 9 till 3...
